Norma 25/11 - 30/11/2024
AUSTRIA
Opening hours of shops in Austria are similar as in Germany. Shops are open on weekdays and Saturdays. By law they are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Exceptions are the stores that are located at bus and train stations and the airport.
Special offer leaflets / week leaflets are valid from Thursday to next Wednesday or Monday to Saturday (it depends on the shop).
CREDIT CARDS:
Unlike Germany, there is no problem to pay any credit card, as well as to withdraw money from an ATM (just be aware of fees of your bank).
CUSTOMER CARDS:
Some chains have integrated systems for the collection of customer benefits, so in a shop you can ask if you can use your Czech customer card (eg. you can collect points at drugstore DM with the Czech card in foreign countries that have “DM program Active beauty World of advantages” - Austria, Slovakia, Hungary. But it is not possible to choose an advantage abroad, it is possible only in the country where the card was issued).
USING HIGHWAYS, VIGNETTE:
The highway in Austria is charged. You can buy following vignettes for your car: annual € 85.70, two-month vignette € 25.70, ten-day vignette € 8.80. The coupon must be stuck on the windshield.
